RClone Student Personal Backup is a private utility that uses the Google Drive API via the open-source tool rclone to let you manage your own Google Drive files. We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your data responsibly.
2. Information We Collect
• OAuth Credentials: When you first authenticate, Google issues an access token and refresh token. These tokens are stored locally in your rclone.conf file on your machine.
• Usage Logs (Optional): If you enable debugging in rclone, minimal log data (such as timestamps and file operation names) may be written to your local log files.
We do not collect or transmit:
• Your Google username or password.
• Any personal files, folders, or content from your Drive.
• Any analytics or tracking data to external servers.
3. How We Use Your Information
All data remains on your device. RClone Student Personal Backup uses your tokens only to:
1. List, download, upload, delete, or rename files in your Google Drive.
2. Refresh access tokens automatically (so you don’t have to re-authenticate every time).
No information is sent to third-party servers or shared with any other users or services.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
This is a command-line tool; we do not use web cookies or browser storage. All configuration and tokens are saved in your local rclone.conf per rclone’s standard behavior.
5. Data Security
• Your tokens and any debug logs reside only on your machine.
• It is your responsibility to secure your device and any backups of rclone.conf.
• We recommend setting file permissions so that only your user account can read rclone.conf.
6. Third-Party Services
RClone Student Personal Backup relies solely on Google’s Drive API. We do not integrate or share data with any advertising, analytics, or social-media platforms.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in functionality or legal requirements. The “Effective Date” at the top will change whenever we post a new version. You should review this page before using the tool, especially after any update.
